what is microblading?
Microblading is a kind of cosmetic tattoo that is placed just beneath the surface of the skin. A handheld tool with a small blade on the end is used to make small strokes that mimic the look of natural hair. A pigment is chosen based on your natural hair color and makeup habits.
does it hurt?
Discomfort should be minimal. A topical anesthetic is used to numb the eyebrow area prior to the procedure.
how long does it last?
It depends on your skin type and level of aftercare. It can last anywhere from a year up to three or more. Oily skin, the use of certain products and sun exposure are common examples of what will cause accelerated fading. I generally recommend to all my clients to come back annually for a touch up to refresh the look and boost the color.
How do you know where to microblade?
Everyone’s brows and bone structure are unique. Taking this into consideration, I use a mapping and measuring method to achieve the most balanced and symmetrical shape to flatter you. I will stencil on this shape as the first step in our appointment. It is totally up to you to approve and we can make adjustments to suit your tastes. Only once you approve the shape will I move on to numbing and microblading.
How long does the appointment take?
Allow 2.5-3 hours for your initial appointment and 2 hours for your 6 week follow up
Why do I need a 6 week follow up?
After your brows heal, we can determine if we need to go any thicker or darker, and touch up any areas of pigment that may need it.
Am I a good candidate for microblading?
People who are using retinol or Accutane, pregnant or breastfeeding, or have recently had fillers or facelifts, or are planning to in the immediate future may not be microbladed. We can discuss your situation individually.
